What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a type of collagen induction therapy that relies on the body’s natural healing mechanisms to stimulate collagen and help rejuvenate the skin. The SkinPen device uses tiny needles that penetrate the skin to help with fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, tone and texture of the skin, acne, and scarring.
Who should avoid this treatment?
SkinPen should not be used on clients who have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s); open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s); an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics; a hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction; are pregnant or nursing; or are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Accutane). Talk to your doctor to see if this treatment is right for you.
What should I expect during treatment?
The treatment area is prepped with topical numbing for comfort. SkinPen creates hundreds to thousands of “micro” skin punctures per second to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process – inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling – to prompt tissue remodeling without causing scar tissue formation.
What will I see immediately after?
Immediately after, your skin will look and feel like you just got a sunburn.
Will it hurt after?
It is normal to feel like you have a sunburn. Your skin will be red and feel warm for the next 24-48 hours.
When will I see results
Initial results can sometimes be seen within a week of your first treatment, but since the skin conditions often being treated—acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation—are often rooted deep in the dermis, it can take longer to see optimal results. Plus, it takes time for your body to undergo its skin-rejuvenating repair process.

What is microneedling with PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses the infusion of your own concentrated platelets harvested through a simple blood draw. When applied after microneedling, PRP can enhance collagen and elastin production in deeper skin levels and lead to faster healing and optimal results.
Who should avoid this treatment? Microneedling with PRP is not recommended for clients who have blood-related disorders, anemia or cancers of the blood or bone. Those taking blood thinners or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) should stop these medications for a few weeks before treatment and several days following it, based on their own physician’s directions.
